Entama arrives in Portugal to support local development

With a track record of five editions in Spain, ENTAMA has established itself as the EDP programme with the greatest impact in the areas where it operates. Over the years, this initiative has shown that it is possible to bring about real change in the neediest communities through an inclusive and sustainable approach. The focus is on communities in transition and rural areas threatened by depopulation.

It is now entering a new phase with its expansion into Portugal. Its objective remains the same: to generate wealth in the territories by creating jobs, retaining the population and encouraging initiatives that promote digitalisation and innovation. The programme also helps to improve local services and add value to local resources.

Since its inception, ENTAMA has been able to change the lives of many entrepreneurs and businesses in different Spanish municipalities, supporting projects committed to sustainability, innovation and inclusion. Undoubtedly, this momentum has been key in creating local jobs, combating depopulation and promoting gender equality, with a particular focus on female entrepreneurship.

To date, the programme has funded more than 57 projects with an investment of more than €600,000, creating more than 100 direct jobs. Its support has been instrumental in revitalising rural areas, where entrepreneurs have found the support they need to develop their ideas and create sustainable businesses.

With the support of EDP and the international recognition of its work, ENTAMA continues to lead the way in entrepreneurship for sustainable development in different areas of Spain and now Portugal. With this new phase, it reaffirms its commitment to creating long-term value in local communities, promoting job creation, equality and economic development.
