2025 has been a year full of new developments at ENTAMA!

This year, we celebrated the first edition of ENTAMA in Portugal, coordinated with the sixth edition in Spain, consolidating the program as a prominent Iberian project that reflects EDP’s commitment to the regions, districts and municipalities where it operates and has new projects under development.

Thus, during the months of May and June, a first “call to action” was held in Asturias, Cádiz and Gerês.

• In Asturias, the call prioritised municipalities within the Caudal-Aboño Just Transition Agreement, municipalities with EDP hydroelectric power stations and municipalities within the Just Transition Agreement for South-West Asturias.
• In Cádiz, municipalities within the Los Barrios-Campo de Gibraltar Just Transition Agreement.
• In Gerês (Portugal), priority was given to the municipalities of Montalegre, Vieira do Minho, Boticas, Ponte da Barca, Arcos de Valdevez, Póvoa de Lanhoso and Terras de Bouro, in what was ENTAMA’s first call for proposals in the country.

More than 40 applications were received, resulting in 17 new ENTAMA projects: 7 in Asturias, 4 in Cádiz and 6 in Gerês. With these additions, which will gradually be posted on this website, the total number of projects supported rises to 73, with an investment of €740,000, which translates into 400 jobs created (on an annual basis).

In September 2025, Entama launched a new “call to action”, once again jointly in Spain and Portugal. In this new phase, projects were sought from new areas located in Burgos, Huesca, Cantabria, Asturias and Lugo in Spain, as well as from the Douro region in Portugal.

• Burgos: priority municipalities and regions where EDP wind farms are located

Barrios de Colina, Carcedo de Burgos, Cardeñadijo, Castil de Lences, Castil de Peones, Estépar, Fresno de Rodilla, Merindad del Río Ubierna, Modúbar de la Emparedada, Monasterio de Rodilla, Poza de la Sal, Quintanavides, Santa María del Invierno, Valle de las Navas, Villamiel de la Sierra and Villoruebo

• Huesca: municipalities with wind farms

Alcalá de Gurrea, Almudévar, Gurrea de Gállego and Tardienta.

• Priority municipalities in the Cantabria Electricity Distribution Areas, Asturias and Lugo

Arenas de Iguña, Astillero, Valdáliga, Penagos, Valderredible, Camargo, Corvera de Toranzo and Reocín in Cantabria.

Valdés and Cudillero, in Asturias.

Barreiros, Viveiro and Vilalba, in the regions of Terra Chá and Mariña de Lugo, in Lugo.

• The Portuguese Douro region: municipalities with EDP’s hydraulic and other renewable assets

Alijó, Amarante, Armamar, Baião, Carrazeda de Ansiães, Castelo de Paiva, Cinfães, Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo, Freixo de Espada à Cinta, Gondomar, Lamego, Marco de Canaveses, Mesão Frio, Moimenta da Beira, Penafiel, Régua, Resende, Sabrosa, Santa Maria da Feira, São João da Pesqueira, Sernancelhe, Tabuaço, Torre de Moncorvo, Vila Nova de Foz Côa, Vila Nova de Gaia,  Vila Pouca de Aguiar, Tarouca and Vila Real.

The application process for this second phase closed at the end of November, and 48 applications are currently being evaluated by a multidisciplinary jury from EDP.
